Singapore and China, one meeting.
An annual AGM and several EGMs.
What happened.
Each year an SGX-listed Chinese issuer holds its AGM and several EGMs as one meeting across two rooms — Singapore and China — on VooV Meeting. The venue's house sound reached the call, so people on the link could hear; the lawyer interpreting in the Singapore room was not in that path, so the twenty or so shareholders sitting there could not. Interframe took sound and picture. One mix now feeds the room PA and the call, the two rooms talk without echo, and the same client books the crew for every meeting.
- ~20 shareholders in the Singapore room
- Two venues: Singapore and China, on a two-way link
- VooV Meeting (Tencent Meeting), because that is what reaches China
- One camera, no camera operator
- Crew: one sound engineer and one broadcast engineer
- Meeting-platform vendor handles voting and the scrutineer
- One AGM and several EGMs each year
What made it hard.
The brief was a two-way meeting between China and Singapore. The failure was in the room that was already supposed to be working. House speakers were tied to the VooV output, which is the wrong way round: remote participants heard the meeting, and the shareholders in Singapore could not hear the lawyer standing a few metres away. A two-way link between the two countries also has to be built so neither room hears itself back. Voting and the scrutineer sit with a meeting-platform vendor; that part was never the gap.
What we did about it.
The platform vendor keeps registration, the poll and the scrutineer. Interframe takes the room: sound, picture, and the mix into VooV.
Speech from the Singapore room, including the interpreting lawyer, is mixed once and sent both to the house PA and into VooV, so the people in the chairs and the people in China hear the same words.
China has to be able to speak to Singapore and be answered. The gain structure is set so neither room feeds itself.
One camera on a tripod, no camera operator. A sound engineer on the interface and a broadcast engineer on the switcher.
On the day.
Singapore room and China room in one meeting, each able to speak and be heard.
the interpreting lawyer is in both, not only on the laptop.
locked-off camera into the call; China feed on the projector for the Singapore room.
sound engineer and broadcast engineer, every AGM and every EGM.
What they did next.
The client has come back every year — one AGM and several EGMs. That is the result.
Let's plan your next AGM.
Send the two venues, the meeting platform and the date, and we'll come back within one business day.
